Trading one Central Coast beach for another, Paige Johnson left the Cal Poly SLO bench to become Laura Van Wart's top assistant for the Otters in 2021.

Johnson spent the last three seasons at Cal Poly. During that time she has served concurrently as a head coach with Central Coast United SC. Prior to those duties, Johnson was a technical trainer for Colorado United FC.

Johnson played four season of college soccer at Butler University. She helped the Bulldogs to 16 wins and the Big East Conference championship as a senior in 2015. Johnson played only one season of prep soccer (at Arroyo Grande HS) but played seven seasons of club with the Central Coast Condors, helping them win a state title in 2010.

Johnson will help the Otters build on their last two seasons (2018–19) in which they established the club record for wins at the NCAA Division II level (15).
