Biography


2015 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Already ensconced as CSUMB’s all–time No. 2 harrier, Jessica McIntyre will try to make history of her own the season as she takes a run at qualifying for the NCAA National Championship Meet…owns the seventh fastest 6K in the Otter books (see 2014) and the six fastest times run by anybody not named Hannah Bell…ran well when it counted most, turning in a 22:26.30 at the CCAA Championship meet (Oct. 24) and 22:29.57 at the NCAA Division II West Regional (Nov. 7)…those runs rank No. 18 and No. 21 in the Otter 6K record book…earned the  third second place finish of her career by placing there at the Sonoma State Invitational (Oct. 3).

2014 – Cal State Monterey Bay: McIntyre continued her maturation by running a strong No. 2 as a sophomore…entered the season owning three of the top eight 6K times in CSUMB history…her PR is No. 7 on the Otter list, a 21:31.60 at the Bronco Invitational on the Baylands Park course (Oct. 18)…top finish (7th) came a week later at the UCSD Triton Invitational (Oct. 25)…ran a 5:12.53 mile at the S.F. State Distance Carnival (Apr. 3), the second fastest mile ever by an Otter.

2013 – Cal State Monterey Bay: McIntyre completed the top freshman season in Otter women’s cross country history in 2013…finished second in her first collegiate meet, running the Crystal Springs Invitational in 23:25.00…followed that two races later with a second place finish at the Sonoma State Invitational on the Spring Lakes Park 6K course…PRed at the invitational section of the Bronco Invitational, navigating the Baylands Park course in 22:06.80, the No. 2 6K time in CSUMB history…her 18:27.90 at the Hornet Jamboree on the Granite Regional Park course was a 5K PR and the No. 3 time at the distance in Otter history.

High School: McIntyre joined the Otter raft after earning seven varsity letters at Orange County’s Los Alamitos High School…earned four letters in cross country and helped the Griffins win the Sunset League title in 2010…also helped LAHS win the league title in track and field as a freshman and sophomore…two–time cross country team MVP.

Personal: McIntyre is majoring in environmental studies at CSUMB…was an honor roll student in high school…CCAA All–Academic Award winner in 2015…has performed volunteer work at both a preschool and a senior home…also coached a youth boys soccer team…parents are Ronald and Susan…is the second youngest of five children.
