Biography
2014 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Hannah Bell improved upon the best season in Otter cross country history in 2013 with an even better season in 2014…became a 2–time All–CCAA honoree when she finished fourth at the CCAA Championship meet, the highest finish ever by an Otter male or female runner…opened the season by breaking her own school for a 6K race with a 21:26.40 performance at the UC Riverside Invitational (Sept. 13)…broke that record five weeks later with a 21:14.40 at the Bronco Invitational on the Baylands Park course (Oct. 18)…now owns the top two 5K times in Otter history and seven of the top 10 8K times…followed up her strong cross country season by earning a trip to the NCAA Championship Meet in the 1500 in the inaugural Otter Track season…earned All–CCAA honors with a third place finish in the 1500 at the CCAA Championship Meet…ran the five fastest 1500s of the Otter season, including the 4:32.42 she ran at the CCAA Meet (May 2) that earned her the trip to the NCAA Meet…also ran CSUMB’s fourth fastest times in both the 800 (2:20.91) and the 5000 (18:38.81).
2013 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Bell posted the best season ever by an Otter women’s cross country runner, becoming the first Otter harrier (male or female) to earn All–CCAA recognition by finishing 14th at the 2013 CCAA Championship Meet…ended her sophomore season with the top 5K and 6K times in CSUMB history…ran an 18:18.17 at the Hornet Jamboree over Granite Regional Park’s 5K course (Sept. 14) to break her own school record…her 21:42.60 at the Bronco Invitational on the Baylands Park 6K course (Oct. 19) set broke her own school record at that distance…broke Piper Delaney’s 2–year–old school 6K record with a 22:22.73 at Spring Lake Regional Park (Sept. 21).
2012 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Bell built on an outstanding freshman season in which she led the Otters in all six meets…finished 31st overall (No. 6 among freshmen) at the CCAA Championship meet on the UC San Diego 6K course…her time of 23:14.9 was a nearly 22 second PR on the course…best 5K time of the season was an 18:26.4 mark at the Bronco Invitational at Baylands Park…she finished a season–best 10th in that race.
High School: Bell was a three–year letterwinner at Orange Country’s Esperanza High School under head coach Rich Medellin…named the Aztecs’ team MVP as a senior…ran a personal best 18:37 in the 5K, and 5:03 in the mile.
Personal: Bell is majoring in kinesiology at CSUMB…career goal is to become an occupational therapist…daughter of Michael and Diane Bell...has an older brother, Jeff... earned the Academic Achievement Award from the D2 Athletic Director’s Association and was a CCAA Scholar–Athlete Award winner as a junior…earned CCAA All–Academic honors as a freshman and sophomore…was a member of the Principal's Honor Roll all four years in high school.
