Riverside City College: Lily Vargas ran for two seasons at state power Riverside City College (2014, 2015)…was a part of two Orange Empire Conference championship teams…5K PR of 20:37.6 came at Woodley Park in Van Nuys on Sept. 19, 2014…6K PR of 25:06.0 came at the UC Riverside Invitational on the UCR Ag/Ops course on Sept. 13, 2014…ran with fellow Otter newcomer Natalie Vaughn at RCC.
High School: Vargas prepped at Roosevelt High School in Riverside County…twice voted most improved and twice voted team MVP for the Mustangs.
Personal: Vargas will major in anthropology at CSUMB…was a dean’s list member at RCC…graduated from RCC with an associate’s degree in math and science…is a certified EMT…graduate from high school with honors and distinction…lists rock climbing amongst her hobbies…parents are Maria and Martin Vargas.
