Cal State Monterey Bay softball welcomed back one of the best hurlers in its history as Jensen Main returned to the Otter bench to serve as pitching coach for first-year skipper Emily Montañez for the 2025 season.
Main, whose previous coaching experience includes a stint as an assistant at MPC, joined the Otter staff officially in September, 2004, after finishing her professional season playing for Collecchio in Italy.
Main started her playing career at Stevenson School before pitching her first two collegiate seasons at the University of New Mexico. She completed her undergrad career at Sacramento State, going 5–4 with a 2.75 ERA in the COVID-shortened 2020 season.
Main finished her collegiate playing career with a flourish, earning first team All-CCAA honors while leading the Otters to the NCAA Regionals in 2022. She went 24–11 with a 1.76 ERA and fanned 133 batters. Her 24 wins ranks No. 4 in the Otter single-season record book as does her 1.76 ERA. Her 133 Ks rank No. 8 on that list.
