Alexis Edwards

Alexis Edwards was named Cal State Monterey Bay head women’s golf coach in January of 2012. 

Edwards comes to the Otters after serving as the interim head women’s golf coach at Fresno State this past fall. Her extensive background in golf administration includes stints as tournament manager of the Haggin Oaks Golf Tournament Program, chair of the Sacramento Golf Club and as a PGA apprentice professional.

As a player, Edwards was an Academic All–American at BYU. She helped the Cougars earn three NCAA Regional berths and qualify for the NCAA National Championship Tournament her junior season. As a youth player, Edwards qualified for the 2002 and 2003 USGA Girl’s Amateur Championships. She placed second at both the PGA Junior Series in Nevada and in the Northern California Westerfield PGA Championship.

A former team captain and member of the BYU student–athlete advisory committee, Edwards received her bachelor’s degree in communication studies from BYU in 2007. She went on to earn an MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2010.
