2016 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Zech Snel enjoyed a strong junior season by competing in all six Otter races…best time of the season was a 25:38.0 on the Baylands Park course at the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 15)…it was the 17^th fastest 8K in CSUMB history…his 32:47.61 at the NCAA West Regional Championship (Nov. 5) ranks as the No. 9 10K all–time at CSUMB…he now owns two of the top 10 and three of the Top 15 10K times in Otter history.

2015 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Zech Snel developed into one of CSUMB’s top harriers as a freshman, climbing into the 8K and 10K all–time lists while appearing in all seven races…ran a PR of 25:11.20 on the Badlands Park Course at the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 17), (then) the 10^th fastest 8K in Otter history…navigated the Ash Creek Preserve course in Salem, Ore. in 32:0759 at the NCAA Division II West Regional, (then) the 3^rd fastest 10K in Otter history…earned his best–ever finish by placing second at the Sonoma State Invitational (Oct. 3).

2014 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Snel got a baptism of fire, competing in all seven meets as an Otter freshman…PRed by running a 25:54.30 on the Baylands Park course at the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 18)…that mark ranks No. 14 all–time on the CSUMB 8K list…best finish was 18^th place at the UCSD Triton Invitational (Oct. 25)…his 33:15.56 at the NCAA Division II West Regional ranks as the fifth fastest 10K in Otter history.

High School: Snel made the short trip up Highway 1 from Seaside where he ran for local prep power Seaside High School and Coach Dwight Smith…was team captain and MVP while leading the Spartans to a second place finish in the CIF Central Section meet and a seventh place finish at the California State meet…helped SHS with the Central Section title in 2012…also earned All–Monterey Bay League honors as a senior…ran a high school PR of 16:22 at Toro Park.

Personal: Snel is majoring in kinesiology at CSUMB…career goal is to be a physical therapist…lists surfing and snowboarding amongst his hobbies…full name is Zechariah…is a native of Vermont.
