Biography
2013 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Jaime Madrigal enjoyed his best collegiate season as a junior in 2013, running his first two sub–30 8K races as an Otter…improved his times in each of his five races, setting his first PR of the season with a 29:55.90 over the Baylands Park course at the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 19)…improved on that mark in his next race, completing the Lower Bidwell Park course in 29:44.10 to place 67th at the CCAA Championship Meet (Oct. 26).
2012 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Madrigal appeared in five of six meets for the Otters as a sophomore…posted a season–best time of 30:02.1 on the Baylands Park 8K course at the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 13)…only 6K time of the season was a 24:12.0 at the Hornet Jamboree in Granite Regional Park.
2011 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Madrigal recorded his best time as a freshman at the Bronco Invitational held at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, posting a 28:31 in the 8K.
High School: Madrigal came to the Otters from Bakersfield’s Ridgeview High School as a three sport student–athlete…lettered in cross country, soccer and track and field…four–time Southwest Yosemite League cross country champions with an undefeated team record…named the Wolfpack Top Freshman in 2007…team captain in both cross country and soccer.
Personal: Madrigal is majoring in kinesiology at CSUMB…earned CCAA All–Academic honors for the first time in 2012…son of Jaime Madrigal and Maria Rosas…has three siblings: Mayra, Juan and Gabriel…was part of the high school Link Crew, Drama Club and Civic Virtue Club.
