CSU Monterey Bay Athletics

2016 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Despite true freshman status, Max Hite quickly established himself at the top of the Otter ladder while competing in five races…was CSUMB’s top runner in his first collegiate race, finishing 32^nd at the CCAA Preview meet on the Guasti Regional park course (Sept. 2)…led CSUMB with an 11^th place finish (of 109) on the Speedway Meadows course at the Gold Gate Park Invitational (Oct. 9)…ran an 8K PR of 25:48.59 to place 24^th at the Humboldt State Invitational on the Patrick’s Point State Park course (Sept. 10).

High School: Hite came to CSUMB after a strong prep career at Portland’s Jesuit High School…led the Crusaders to back–to–back Top 10 finishes at the Oregon state championships in 2014 (10^th) and 2015 (4^th)…was a first team All–Metro League pick as a senior in 2015…a 3–time state meet qualifier…also served as the JHS team captain…ran a 5K PR of 15:41.3 at the Sandelie Invitational (Oct. 9, 2015)…track PRs include 2:07.44 in the 800 and 9:06.97 in the 3,000…was high school teammates with Otter freshman Logan Phillips.

Personal: Hite is majoring in human communication at CSUMB…career goal is to write and produce music and make films…hopes to move to Australia someday…surfs, writes poetry and music in his spare time.
