Biography
2013 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Eric Jackson was one of CSUMB’s workhorse runners as a junior, appearing in all six regular season meets as well as the CCAA Championship…ran sub–30s in his final five races, including a season best 28:19.90 over the Baylands Park course at the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 19)…ran 28:24.60 to place 62nd at the CCAA Championship meet on Chico’s Lower Bidwell Park Course (Oct. 26).
2012 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Jackson proved to be one of CSUMB’s most consistent runners as a sophomore…recorded his best time of the season at the Bronco Invitational, finishing the 8K Baylands Park course in 27:11.5…also recorded a 22:16.3 6K time at the Hornet Jamboree in Granite Regional Park.
2011 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Jackson’s top 8K time as a freshman came at the Sonoma State Invitational held at Spring Kale Regional Park in Santa Rosa, posting 28:14.
High School: Jackson came to the Otters as four–year letter winner in both cross country and track and field at Sacramento’s McClatchy High School…held the school record in the 3000m for track with a personal best time of 9:15 and the 1600m in 4:33…holds a cross country personal record in the 3–mile with a time of 15:23…led Lion cross country to three Metro League Champions.
Personal: Jackson is majoring in kinesiology at CSUMB and plans to attend graduate school…named to the CCAA All–Academic team as a sophomore…son of Eric Sr. and Shawnta Jackson and Marla and David McCray…graduated with HISP (Honors International Study Program) Honors…earned MHS Unsung Hero Award…member of the McClatchy Key Club.
