Biography
2013 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Daniel Metzger completed a solid sophomore season in 2013 in which he established PRs at both the 8K and 4–mile distances…bettered his 8K PR by nearly 30 seconds when he completed the Gator Invitational at Golden Gate Park in 27:15.10 (Oct. 11)…ran 21:28.20 at Granite Regional Park in the Hornet Invitational (Sept. 14) for his top 4–mile time…top finish was 13th place at the season–opening Crystal Springs Invitational (Sept. 7).
2012 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Metzger raced in all six meets as an Otter freshman…posted his best 8K time on the Bronco Invitational’s Baylands Park course, finishing in 27:44.1…only 4–mile time was a 21:46.8 at the Hornet Jamboree on the Granite Regional Park Course.
High School: Metzger was a three–year letterwinner for the Grizzlies of Reno’s Galena High School under head coach Tim Minor…was captain of the cross country team his senior season…team won Nevada 4A state title in senior campaign.
Personal: Metzger is majoring in collaborative health and human services at CSUMB…earned CCAA All–Academic honors as a freshman and sophomore…works as a public address announcer at Otter sporting events…son of Mike and Lin Metzger…has an older brother, John…graduated with an honors diploma.
