Biography
2014 – Cal State Monterey Bay
Jorey Scott provided the Otters with an imposing physical prescence inside in all 25 games…worked his way into the starting lineup by season’s end, starting seven of the final nine games…displayed a deft scoring touch while leading all Otter shooters at 58.9 percent from the floor…knocked on the door of double figure scoring twice, including a nine–point game against eventual West Region champion Chico State (Feb. 21)…pulled down a season–high 10 rebounds in a win over San Francisco State (Jan. 24)…led the team in rebounding five times.
Miramar College
Scott was a grinder at San Diego’s Miramar College for two seasons, averaging 4.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore while chipping in 17 blocked shots…the latter two numbers ranked No. 2 on the team…was very efficient with the ball in his hands, leading the Jets from the floor at 56 percent during his two seasons at Miramar…as a sophomore, he finished tied for seventh in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference in both field goal percentage (.586) and blocks (17).
High School
Scott prepped at Douglas High School in Minden, Nev. where he was a two–time All–Sierra League pick after leading the Tigers to the league title in 2010 and a runner–up finish in 2011…played AAU ball with Carson Valley Basketball and Chico Tarheels…was a West Coast Double Pump all–Star.
Personal
Scott is majoring in kinesiology with an eye towards a career as a physical therapist… is the son of Shellie Scott, who played softball collegiately at UOP…lists lifting weights, surfing and fishing among his hobbies…is a native of Tualip, Wash.
