Biography


2016 – Cal State Monterey Bay
  • Redshirted in 2015–16 after off–season shoulder surgery.
2015 – Cal State Monterey Bay
  • Was a key contributor off the bench, averaging 15.6 mpg in 26 appearances.
  • Scored in double figures in 3 of his last 4 games and 7 games overall.
  • Season–high 18 points came at UC San Diego (Jan. 31).
  • Led team in both scoring and rebounding (6) in the UCSD game, the first time for both as an Otter.
2014 – Cal State Monterey Bay
  • Appeared in all 25 games as a freshman.
  • Grabbed at least one rebound in 24 of 25 games and went more than one game without scoring only once.
  • Scored in double figures for the first time with a season–high 12 points at Cal State L.A. (Feb. 1).
  • Made his first collegiate start in CSUMB’s first–ever win at Humboldt State (Feb. 8).
High School
  • A double–double machine as a prep star.
  • Set the Columbia River High School career scoring record (1,605 points).
  • Earned The Columbian’s All–Region Player of the Year nod.
  • Finished his senior season by scoring a school–record 517 points and averaging 21.5 points per game, reaching double figures 23 times in 24 contests.
  • Included in that total was a school–record 42–point performance in a Nov. 26, 2012 win over Evergreen High School.
  • Earned first team All–Greater St. Helen’s League recognition as sophomore and junior before being named the league’s MVP as a senior in 2013.
  • In his final two prep seasons he led the Chieftains to the GSHL and District 6 titles while taking the 2013 Chieftains to the Sweet 16 of the Washington Class 3A State Championships.
  • Played AAU ball with the Inner City Players…led ICP to a Rose City Showcase title.
Personal
  • Is majoring in business administration with a concentration in accounting at CSUMB.
  • Plans to continue to grad school and become a CPA.
  • Posted a spotless 4.00 GPA as a freshman.
  • A 2–time CCAA Scholar–Athlete Award winner.
  • An honors student in high school with a 3.8 grade point average.
  • Is a native of Portland, Ore.
  • The son of Eric Smith and Mary Kay Evans–Smith.
  • His father played collegiately at George Fox College and still ranks among the school’s all–time leaders in field goal accuracy.
