Biography
2012–13 – Cal State Monterey Bay
Holly Holcomb made a speedy recovery from her season–ending injury in late 2011 to start all 29 games as a junior…arguably the team’s top all–around player and its leading returning 3–point shooter…scored 10 points in just 12 minutes in her return during a season–opening win at Notre Dame de Namur (Nov. 16)…scored in double figures five times, including a season–high 14–point performance in the regular season finale vs. Chico State (Mar. 1)…matched her career high with 13 rebounds in a Jan. 19 win over Cal State San Bernardino, one of her two double–figure rebounding games as a junior.
2011 – 12 – Cal State Monterey Bay
Holcomb was shaping up to be the best all–around player on the team when a knee injury derailed her first junior campaign after five games…was averaging 9.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from beyond the arc (9–for–20) when she got hurt…matched her career–high with 15 points in a season–opening win over Academy of Art (Nov. 15)…posted her second career double–double with 11 points and 11 rebounds against Simon Fraser (Nov. 26).
2010–11 – Cal State Monterey Bay
Holcomb started in all 31 games as a sophomore…scored a career–high 15 points in a win at Notre Dame de Namur (Nov. 19)…repeated that performance in a win at Cal State Stanislaus (Jan. 21)… first double–double came with 10 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Sonoma State (Feb. 18)…grabbed a career–high 13 rebounds the next night in a win over Humboldt State (Feb. 19)…played a career–high 34 minutes in a win at Cal State L.A. (Feb. 12).
2009–10 – Cal State Monterey Bay
Holcomb played in all 27 games as a freshman…reached double figures for the first time with 11 points against Cal State L.A. (Jan. 8)…grabbed nine rebounds against Cal Poly Pomona (Feb. 25)…grabbed eight rebounds in her first collegiate start, a win over Dominican University (Dec. 28).
High School
Holcomb was a two–time All–Channel League first team pick at Buena High School…league co–MVP her senior year when she also was named team MVP…received team captain award…two–time Ventura County Star All–County selection.
Personal
Holly is majoring in psychology with a minor in human development at CSUMB…is considering graduate school and the Peace Corps after graduating from CSUMB…hopes to pursue a career studying and working with wild animals abroad…earned the CIF Southern Section Academic Award…daughter of Yvonne Benado…has one older brother, Michael.
