Biography
2011–12 – Cal State Monterey Bay
Brandon Ward came into his own as a junior, earning second team All–CCAA honors after finishing third on the conference scoring table at 16.1 points per game…that average ranks No. 8 on the CSUMB single season list…CCAA Player of the Week for Feb. 6 after averaging 26 points on the Sonoma–Humboldt trip…scored a career–high 31 points (including eight three–pointers) at Sonoma State (Feb. 2)…scored in double figures in 22 of 26 games, including 13 of the last 14…scored 20 or more points nine times…led CSUMB in scoring 17 times and in assists 11 times, both tops on the team…matched his career high with seven assists against UC San Diego (Feb. 17)…matched his career–high with three steals against Cal Poly Pomona (Feb. 10)…enters his senior season ranked in the CSUMB career top 10 in: Assists (2nd, 188); Free Throws Made (3rd, 224); Starts (3rd, 70); Minutes Played (4th, 2,238); Steals (5th, 70); 3-Pt. 2010–11 – Cal State Monterey Bay
Ward was the team’s returning leader in scoring, assists and steals entering his junior season… one of only two Otters to start all 26 games…averaged 10.0 points, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game…scored in double figures 15 times, including a career–high 20 points at Chico State (Jan. 22)…passed for a career–high seven assists in a win over Cal State East Bay (Dec. 4)… best all–around statistical game was a 16–point, five–rebound, six–assists night versus Sonoma State (Feb. 18).
2009–10 – Cal State Monterey Bay
Ward jumped right into the fire as a freshman, making 18 starts…led the team in assists (53), three–point percentage (48.0) and free throw percentage (78.1) as a freshman…came off the bench to score a season–high 16 points against Cal State East Bay (Jan. 16)…finished third on the team in scoring at 6.2 points per game.
High School
Ward prepped at Woodcrest Christian High School where he averaged 19.6 points, 4.6 assists, 2.6 steals and 3.7 rebounds per game for the Royals as a senior in 2008–09…scored in double figures 29 times as a senior, pouring in a career–high 40 in a win over San Jacinto (Jan. 19, 2009)…posted a double–double with 12 points and 11 assists in a win over Paraclete (Feb. 18)…also averaged 19.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game as a junior…posted his first prep double–double with 19 points and 13 boards in a win over Big Bear (Dec. 28, 2007)…led the Royals to four Big Sky League titles, including undefeated championships as a junior and senior…Royals went 30–2 in league play during his career.

Ward is majoring in business administration… earned CCAA All–Academic honors with a 3.90 GPA in 2011–12…was married over the summer to the former Danielle Davids…is the son of Cheryl Ward.
