Biography
As a Sophomore in 09-10 at Cuesta College: Was team leader making it to the State meet back-to-back years…nominee for Cuesta College Athlete of the Year…stands fourth on the school record board in the 1500m event with a personal best of 3:57.
As a Freshman in 08-09 at Cuesta College: Ran the 1500M with personal best time of 3:57…team made it to state qualifiers for the first time in 20 years…participated in So. Cal finals.
High School: Ran for the Mustangs of King City High School where he was a four year varsity runner in cross country …team went to the state meet every year from Sophomore year on…as a senior led to team Central Coast Section Championship as League Champion…broke the school Mile record for track with a personal best of 4:22…ran the 3 mile event with a personal best time of 14:12…was named team MVP as a senior…also competed in track and soccer.
Personal: Son of Jorge and Yolanda Peña…has three siblings; Marlene, Marycruz, and Mayte…Marycruz played soccer at local junior college Hartnell.
