Biography
2016–17 – Cal State Monterey Bay
- Tied for fourth at the NCAA Super Regional to earn a spot at the NCAA Championship Tournament.
- Became the first Otter woman’s player to make the NCAA Championship field as an individual.
- Became the first Otter to play at the NCAA Championship Tournament since CSUMB qualified as a team in 2010.
- Finished 38th at the NCAA Championship Tournament, the fourth–best finish ever by an Otter women’s golfer.
- Enters her junior campaign with a CSUMB record–low stroke average of 76.90.
- Finished the season with a 77.48 stroke average, the No. 7 mark in CSUMB history.
- Finished with six Top 10 finishes and a pair of Top 5 finishes.
- Her 11 career Top 10 finishes already rank No. 5 in CSUMB history.
- Matched her collegiate career low round (72) in the second round of the NCAA Super Regional (May 9).
- Played 19 of her 27 rounds in the 70s.
2015–16 – Cal State Monterey Bay
- Enjoyed the best freshman season in CSUMB history.
- Qualified for the NCAA West Regional as an individual, finishing 12th among 66 competitors.
- Led MB with a 76.21 stroke average, 2nd best in Otter history.
- One of only 7 Otters ever to card 72 or better in a round.
- Shot 72 at the WNMU Fall Intercollegiate (Sept. 21) and the Dixie State Invitational (Oct. 5).
- Had 6 top 10 finishes, including 2 Top 5 finishes.
- Best finish was second at the Sonoma State Fall Invitational and the Maverick Spring Invitational.
High School
- A highly–rated junior in Sweden.
- Captured the title at the Skandia Tour National #3 in June of 2015.
- Finished 2nd at the Richard S. Johnson Junior Open in August, 2015.
- Earned 4th place finishes at the 2015 Vreta Ping Junior Open and the Skandia Tour National #2.
- Also competed in soccer and floorball as a junior athlete.
Personal
- Is majoring in business administration at CSUMB.
- Goal is to continue her golf career as a professional after graduation.
- Her mother’s cousin, Gustav Backman, played golf at CSUMB in the mid 2000s.
- Parents are Ulf and Anna Karlsson.
