Biography
As a Junior in 2011-12: Competed in 11 events (33 rounds) with a team-best 73.3 stroke average…PING All-American honorable mention honoree…Division II PING All-West Region selection… 2012 CCAA individual medalist after firing a three-day total of 210 (71-69-70) and winning a three-way playoff…shot a season-low 69 on five occasions…recorded six top 5 finishes…placed third at the NCAA Division II Men’s Central/West Regional with rounds of 70-69-72 (212, -4)…competed as an individual at the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championships, finishing tied for 51st with a 223 (76-72-75)…began the year with a tie for 4th place at the Otter Invitational with rounds of 73, 69 and 74 (216, E)…tied for 3rd at the Dennis Rose Invitational with a 216 (75, 69, 72).
At Midland College: Carded a scoring average of 74.83 with a low round of 65 in the 2010-2011 season...received Coach’s award as a freshman...received Most Improved Player award as a sophomore.
Personal: Son of Terje and Bente Sobstad...has one brother; Fredrick...majoring in Business Administration.
