 2011 – CAL STATE MONTEREY BAY
Jackie Serna returns for her senior season as one of the anchors of the Otter infield…started all 51 games (46 SS, 5 2B) as a junior…her .333 batting average ranked second on the team…her 16 doubles ranked No. 3 in the CCAA while her 10 home runs ranked No. 6, helping her finish No. 2 in the conference with a .673 slugging percentage…hit .375 (9-for-24) over a season best eight–game hitting streak (Mar. 29–Apr. 3)…had 10 multi–RBI games, including a two–home run, five–RBI explosion at Cal State East Bay (Feb. 26)…homered in three of 4 games from Apr. 9–11.
 
RIVERSIDE CITY COLLEGE
Serna earned first team All–Orange Empire Conference and OEC MVP and first team All–State honors both season at Riverside City College…led RCC in runs (42), RBIs (45), home runs (9) stolen bases (10) and walks (34) as a sophomore in 2010…led the Tigers with 59 hits, 47 RBIs, 17 doubles, four triples and five home runs as a freshman in 2009…hit .358 as a freshman and .417 as a sophomore.
 
HIGH SCHOOL
Serna played four seasons of varsity softball at Corona High School, earning first–team All–Mountain View League honors twice and All-CIF Southern Section Division I honors once…played travel ball with the So Cal Crunch.
 
PERSONAL
Serna is majoring in kinesiology…earned her associate’s degree in criminal justice from RCC…scored the walk–off, game–winning run against Sonoma State on her birthday last season (Apr. 8)…mother is Sonia Fernandez.
