As a Junior in 2009: Started 60 games for the Otters playing outfielder…owned a batting average of .343 with 57 hits…tallied 10 doubles, two triples, and two home runs…was 2-for-3 against San Francisco State (2/20) hitting a double and a triple…was perfect at the plate (2-for-2) against Humboldt State (3/21)…went (3-for-4) with a double against Cal State Stanislaus (4/17).
As a Sophomore at San Jose City College in 2008: Appeared in all 45 games for the Jaguars...recorded a .450 batting average with 58 hits, 46 runs and 12 RBI...racked up 10 doubles and four triples...stole 22 bases...selected All-Conference first team...played alongside Otter teammate Niki Ames.
As a Freshman at San Jose City College in 2007: Led team to conference and regional championships…team was ranked 2nd in Northern California and 5th in the state…selected All-Conference first team…ranked third in batting average with .450 in the Coast Conference-South Division…finished with 58 hits, 46 runs, 10 doubles and 22 stolen bases.
High School: Four-time All-League selection…Senior Year - named League Defense MVP…led team in batting average (.366), runs (20) and triples (5).
Personal: Daughter of David and Tina Montez …has a brother, Armondo and a sister, Christina…majoring in Social & Behavioral Sciences.
Why I chose to attend CSUMB: Its close to home and the softball program seemed strong.
