As a Junior in 2009: Led CCAA in plate appearances (227) and was fifth in sacrifice bunts (13)…started in all 64 games at shortstop for the Otters…owned a .326 batting average with 62 hits…posted 16 multi-hit games…led team in runs scored with 42…tallied nine doubles, one triple and six home runs…blasted a three-run homer, her second of the game, in a 14-6 victory over then No. 5 nationally ranked Humboldt State (3/21)… was perfect at the plate (3-for-3) with three RBI and a double against Chico State (4/11).
As a Sophomore at San Jose City College in 2008: Led team to conference and regional championships…team was ranked 2nd in Northern California and 5th in the state…selected All-Conference first team…owned a .315 batting average with 34 hits, eight doubles and 21 RBI…played alongside Otter teammate Jennifer Montez.
As a Freshman at DeAnza in 2007: Selected All-Conference first team.
High School: A 2006 graduate of Milpitas High School…three-time All-League first team selection…Senior Year: batted .253 with 21 hits her senior year…best performance coming in the season opener on March 8 in a 12-5 victory over Santa Teresa High School where she went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a homerun. Junior Year: Named League Offensive MVP and All-CCS…led the Trojans in batting average (.414), hits (36), RBI (30), doubles (7) and home runs (4).
Personal: Daughter of Joe and Denise Ames…has two siblings, Eric and Cali…majoring in Kinesiology.
Why I chose to attend CSUMB: I like the weather, the small classes and softball gave me the opportunity to continue my athletic career.
