SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team opened its conference home schedule with a 2-1 victory over Stanislaus State on Friday evening at Cardinale Stadium. The victory improves the Otters to 4-1-4 on the season and 1-0-2 in CCAA play.
The win marks the eighth straight match that the Otters have not been beaten, breaking the program record of seven set in 2019.
Junior transfer
Jaedyn Sanders opened the scoring in the 22
nd minute as she perfectly struck a one-timer from 25-yards out that bent to the upper-v at the far post. The goal was the second on the season for the Modesto native.
The Otters tacked on another in the 60
th minute when
Audrey Reyna finished a nice
Gianna Foss pass at the top of the six-yard box. The goal is the first for Reyna in a CSUMB uniform.
CSUMB out-shot Stanislaus State, 16-8 and put 10 on frame.
Tiger Rendon and
Evelyn Sandoval paced the Otters with three shots apiece.
TWO OR MORE…The Otters are undefeated since Sept. 25, 2021, when scoring two or more goals. The pair of goals marked the second straight match that CSUMB has scored two goals.
ONE OR LESS… CSUMB has allowed one goal or less in eight of their nine matches this season. The Otters allowed one goal or less on 13 occasions last season.
GOING STREAKING… The 2-1 victory over Stanislaus State marked the eighth straight match that the Otters have not seen defeat. The eight-match unbeaten streak is a program record, break the streak of seven in 2019.
