SAN FRANCISCO — Senior Natalia Leroux (Martinez/College Park HS) capped her CSUMB career with a flourish as her 73rd minute strike sent Cal State Monterey Bay out in style with a 1-0 win over San Francisco State Thursday in Cox Stadium.

Leroux's goal — her career-high third of the season — came on a beautiful left-footed one-timer off a short feed from junior Jordyne Puentes (Clovis College/Bullard HS). She beat Gator keeper Kylie Tone to the upper left vee.
 

The Otter defense, meanwhile, kept keeper Aubrey McKessy (Canyon Country/Canyon HS) mostly duty free. McKessy needed to make just one save while earning her ninth career win and eighth career shutout. Her nine wins tie Maleni Morales for No. 3 on the CSUMB career wins list while her eight clean sheets tie Stephanie Busch for No. 3 on that career list.

Thursday's win gave CSUMB its fourth victory and first road victory of 2023. The Otters also tied a program record with five draws this season.
