CSUMB Falls To Cal State San Bernardino

SEASIDE, Calif.
– The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team dropped an 83-59 decision to California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) top-seeded Cal State San Bernardino on Friday night at the Kelp Bed.

The Otters fell to 5-10 and 3-7 in CCAA action while the Coyotes improved to 11-3, 9-1 in conference play.

CSUMB was led by freshman #Davion Berry# with nine points while juniors #Ian Hosford# and #Warren Freeman# each contributed eight points. Senior #Sean Jergo# pulled down a team-high seven rebounds on top of seven points.

After the Coyotes jumped out to a 24-15 lead, three consecutive CSUMB 3-pointers with a basket by CSUSB cut the gap to three points.

For the final five minutes of the first half, CSUMB kept within five points.  Hosford made a buzzer beater 3-pointer to tie the game at 35-35 at the half.

The Coyotes outscored the Otters 26-6 in the first ten minutes of the second half and cruised to a 83-59 victory.

San Bernardino had four players reach double-digits with Devon Davis leading the way with 20 points while Bryan LeDuc recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Otters host 2009 NCAA Runner-up Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
