(CHICO, Calif.) Cal State Monterey Bay had their four match win streak snapped as the Otters fell at #19 Chico State by scores of 20-30, 16-30, 24-30.  The loss drops CSUMB (5-12) to 3-3 in the CCAA while the Wlidcats (12-4) improve to 5-1 in conference play.

"I was happy with how we followed the game plan, " said head coach Jody Garry. "I felt like we were in positions to score, but to compete with teams the caliber of Chico you have to execute and we were unable to do that tonight."

The Otters were out hit .062 to .254 by nationally ranked Chico State.  Christine Rickets had 6 kills and Melissa Nickas had 10 digs for CSUMB. 

"I thought Melissa (Nickas) played well, " stated Garry. " She kept us in points with her defense and served tough."

CSUMB continues their road trip to Turlock to face the Warriors of Cal State Stanislaus Saturday night at 7:00 pm.
