(SEASIDE, Calif.)  The battle of the top two teams in the CCAA North Division lived up to billing as Cal State Monterey Bay and #24 Sonoma State battled to a scoreless tie until the Seawolves' Eric Lafon scored the game winning goal at the 78th minute.  The Seawolves added another goal late in the period to finish with a 2-0 margin of victory over the Otters.

"It was a hard fought, disciplined loss," said head coach Artie Cairel. "We had our chances early and then gave up goals on two set pieces.  We battled hard and I think we proved we can play with the top teams in the conference."

CSUMB's #Jake True# had 2 shots on goal and #Brenden Baca# recorded 6 saves for the Otters.

The loss drops the Otters to 2-2-2 (2-2-2 CCAA).  CSUMB looks to bounce back immediately as they host BYU-Hawaii in non conference action tomorrow at the CSUMB soccer field.  Kickoff is slated for 1:30 pm.
