(SEASIDE, Calif.)  Cheri Schwanke scored the game winning goal just as the second half got underway (48:48) and the Otters held off Humboldt State to secure the 1-0 shut out victory.

"We possessed the ball under pressure and stayed composed, " said head coach Erin Roberts. "Our team has worked very hard and this is a great way to open our home season with a win."

Catrina Miramontes posted 14 saves in the shut out win as HSU out shot CSUMB 18-12 and had a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal.

The Otters host CCAA North Division foe Sonoma State University on Sunday at the CSUMB Soccer Field.  Kickoff is set for 12:30pm.
