Otters Lose Twice at CSU Bakersfield

[BOX SCORE GAME 1]
[BOX SCORE GAME 2]

CSU Monterey Bay were swept in a doubleheader at CCAA foe Cal State Bakersfield by the scores of 3-2 and 9-1.

In the first game, CSUMB (17-32, 4-22 CCAA) took the lead with two runs in the third inning. Ashlee Trotter had an RBI single - her 99th hit in an Otter uniform - and Megan Russo had a sacrifice fly. However, then the momentum and luck started to go the hosts' way. Bakersfield tied the game in the bottom of the third, and won the game on an error with two outs in the seventh inning. All of the Roadrunners' runs were unearned as CSUMB committed three costly errors which all led to scores.

The second game was all Roadrunners. Jessica Boyle, the school's career leader in wins and strikeouts, had a rough game, leaving in the first inning after giving up five runs. CSUB outhit the Otters 14-6 and ended the game by the run rule with a two-out RBI double for the final score.
