[BOX SCORE GAME 2]
Monterey Bay split a doubleheader against Patten University Wednesday evening. The Otters (17-30) won the first game 13-2 in five innings before being surprised in the nightcap 4-3.
The Otters outhit the hosts 16-5 in the first game, including triples by Kristin Rasmussen and Jessica Boyle. Rasmussen had 4 RBI on the day and Leann Wacker went 3-3 at the plate. The second game was the 100th game in school history, and the Otters looked to make it historic by scoring 2 quick runs in the first inning off of Rasmussen's two-run homer. The Lions tied it in the bottom of the inning with two runs of their own. The Otters got the lead back with Megan Russo's solo home run. However, Patten hit consecutive bases-loaded singles in the bottom of the sixth to eke out the comeback win. The loss ends CSUMB's school-record seven-game win streak.
