[BOX SCORE GAME 2]
CSU Monterey Bay couldn't keep up their hitting and lost a pair of one run games at CSU Stanislaus.
In the first game, the host Warriors rallied with three runs and four hits in the sixth inning to come back and defeat the Otters 7-6. The Otters jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first, thanks in part to a two-run home run by Ashlee Trotter and an RBI-double by Jill Artoff. After CSU Stanislaus came back with four runs, the Otters scored two runs with two outs, courtesy of RBIs from Megan Russo and Trotter.
In the second game, CSUMB tied it at 2 with back-to-back doubles from Russo and Trotter, and then an RBI single from Alixis Villarin. However, the Otters were held scoreless in the final four innings. The Warriors (16-2, 7-1 CCAA) scored the winning run on an error in the fifth inning, and threw out an Otter runner at the plate in the seventh to hold on and win 3-2. The Otters are now 7-14, 2-8 in CCAA and play the Warriors in another doubleheader on Saturday.
