CSUMB finished 6th out of nine teams in the first day of the Sonoma State Invitational.
CSUMB was 21 shots off the lead with a final three-round team score of 890. CSU Stanislaus won by four strokes over Sonoma State with a combined 869, thanks to individual medalist Eric Justensen's 207( 9 under). CSU San Marcos and Notre Dame de Namur finished tied for third at 878.
The Otters' lowest score was Brian Thompson's five-over-par 221, good for 12th. Nick Bell finished tied for 17th place with a 223 to finish seven strokes over par. Brian Keck finished with a 224 (T-26th) and Grant Haney shot 225 to finish tied for 29th.
