CSU Monterey Bay opened senior weekend with two big wins over CCAA rival Cal Poly Pomona. The Otters (17-33, 9-25 CCAA) won the first game 15-1 and cruised to a 9-2 win in the second game.

In the first game, the Otters jumped out to a 10-0 lead, highlighted by a six-hit six run 3rd inning. Budd Glock had a lead off home run in the 5th and Rocky Russo had a three-run shot in the 8th for the hosts.

The Otter offense did not let up in the second game, as they had 11 hits, including five in the 3rd inning to take back the lead. The inning was highlighted with Nick Zaballos adding on to his school-record home run tally with the 15th round-tripper of his career. The Otters got spectacular complete-game pitching in both games; Grayson Adams struck out eight in the first game, and Andrew Shive struck out two in the second where the Broncos (17-29, 10-22 CCAA) stranded 12 runners. The teams finish the series with a Senior day doubleheader starting at noon.
