Cal State Monterey Bay won a pair of seven-inning games over Bethany University to win the inaugural Battle of the Bay. CSUMB is now 12-24. Bethany had their seven-game win streak snapped and fall to 17-12.
Both games featured amazing comebacks by the Otters. Down 5-1 with two innings to go, the Otters scored the last nine runs to win game 1 10-5. Budd Glock hit a three-run home run for CSUMB, and Daniel Gomez tallied his 100th hit, the first Otter ever to do so. The second game required more comeback magic as the Otters scored the last four runs of the game to win 5-2. Grayson Adams struck out five batters in 4 1/3 innings.
