Top-ranked Cal State Los Angeles got a double dose of revenge on Saturday for their first conference loss.

The Golden Eagles swept a doubleheader against CSU Monterey Bay by the scores of 16-1 and 2-0. The Eagles are now 24-3-1, 14-1 CCAA while CSUMB dalls to 10-23, 7-16 in league play.

The game started out perfect for the Otters as they took a 1-0 lead with their first three batters reaching safely. However, CSULA then turned on the offense. They expanded a 2-1 lead to 9-1 by the sixth inning and finished by scoring the last 16 runs and outhitting the hosts 19-7. Eight of the nine starting batters for CSULA had at least 1 RBI, led by Jacinto Rivera's 4 RBI on 4-5 batting. Jacob Roe went 2-3 with the only RBI for CSUMB. Grayson Adams (1-3) took the loss despite striking out 8 Golden Eagles in seven innings of work.

The second game was vastly different, as the teams combined for 11 hits in the seven inning game. The Golden Eagles got all the offense they needed in the second, when Mike Diaz one-out double scored two. Issac Morales won the pitchers' duel, scattering five hits and striking out two. Tyler Harvey went the full seven for CSUMB, striking out eight and allowing only three hits after CSULA's three-hit 2nd inning. The series concludes Sunday morning at 11:00 am.
