Otters Split Twinbill Against Warriors

CSUMB was outhit 10-8 and committed 3 errors in a 9-4 loss at Cal State Stanislaus. However, the Otters came back to win the nightcap 4-3 and break their five-game losing streak.

In the first game, CSUMB (7-16, 4-10 CCAA) fell behind 4-1 by the 4th inning and could not catch up as the Warriors' pitchers struck out them out nine times. Brian Trump hit a solo home run for CSUMB. The second game was more dramatic. Down 3-2 in the top of the last scheduled inning, CSUMB tied the score when Ross Hoffman scored on an error from the left fielder. The next inning, Hoffman scored the winning run with two outs when his single drove in Nick Zaballos. Grayson Adams (1-1) got the win pitching all eight innings and finished with a team season-high nine strikeouts. The teams play another doubleheader 12 noon in Seaside on Sunday.
