Otters Swept in Series by Wildcats

The Otters started strong but in the end fell to visiting Chico State 15-6 on a sunny Sunday afternoon at the Otter Ballpark. The Wildcats improve to 19-1 overall and 7-1 in CCAA action. while CSU Monterey Bay drop to 6-15 overall and 3-9 in the CCAA.

CSUMB led 5-2 in the fourth inning but couldn't hold. After the Wildcats tied it at 5, the Otters regained the lead at 6-5 when Daniel Gomez scored on an errant pitch. The second-ranked Wildcats responded with 10 unanswered runs, including 7 in the eighth inning.

Having a big day for Chico State was Aaron Demuth who went 4-6 with three RBI's including the lone home run of the game. Ross Hoffman went 1-4 with two RBI's and Gomez went 2-4 with 1 RBI in a losing effort for CSUMB. CSUMB looks for their first home win when the team takes on CSU Stanislaus in home and home series with the first game at the Otters Ballpark Friday at 2pm.
