LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- Cal State Monterey Bay's inspired play and strong blocking was not enough, as the Otters fell to Cal State LA by scores of 30-28, 30-22, 30-21 Friday night in Los Angeles.

The Otters fall to 12-18 (8-9, CCAA) while the Eagles improve to 15-9 (11-6, CCAA).

After falling behind 21-10 in the first game, CSUMB put together an impressive rally to tie the game at 28-28 before dropping the set 30-28 to CSULA. 

In games 2 and 3, the Otters continued to push the playoff bound Eagles by extending points and putting up a strong block.  CSUMB out blocked CSULA 11 - 4 for the match.

Brittany Etchings, Courtney Taubert and Christine Ricketts each posted 10 kills for the Otters.  Melissa Nickas had 14 digs and Dana Grimm recorded 20 assists.

The Otters finish their season tonight at No. 20 UC San Diego.  First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
