SEASIDE, Calif. --- Cal State Monterey Bay's senior class made the most of their last home match in defeating #22 Chico State by scores of 30-27, 30-27, 15-30, 24-30, 15-12 on Senior Night at the Otter Sport Center gymnasium. The Otters improve to 12-17 (8-8, CCAA) while the Wildcats drop to 16-10 (9-7, CCAA)
In front of an enthusiastic home crowd, senior #Brittany Etchings# led the Otters with 18 kills and 22 digs. Seniors #Courtney Taubert# and #Christine Ricketts# added 14 kills a piece as CSUMB won their third straight match and improved to .500 in CCAA play this season.
Senior #Melissa Nickas# had a match high 34 digs while freshmen #Juliette Ward# (26 assists, 11 digs) and #Dana Grimm# (25 assists, 10 digs) both had strong performances in split time at the setter position.
CSUMB finishes their season on the road at Cal State Los Angeles on Friday, Nov. 9th and at #19 UC San Diego on Saturday, Nov. 10th.
