SEATTLE, Wash. --- #Augie Johnston# scored 19 points as Cal State Monterey Bay opened the regular season with a 81-68 loss to Seattle Pacific University in the Sodexho Tip-Off Classic hosted by SPU at Brougham Pavilion.  CSUMB falls to 0-1 on the young season while SPU moves to 1-0.

In addition to Johnson's 19 point effort, #D Shon Cannon# added 16 points and #Joe Mitchell# recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Otters.

The Otters continue play tomorrow afternoon against Western Washington University, who lost 74-68 to fellow California Collegiate Athletic Association member Cal State San Bernardino in the opening game of the Sodexho Tip-Off Classic this afternoon at SPU.
