SEASIDE, Calif. --- Coming off their thrilling 5 game win over #16 Cal State Los Angeles a night earlier, the Otters were unable to overcome the consistent play of #21 UC San Diego, losing by scores of 18-30, 29-31, 22-30 Friday night at the Otter Sports Center gymnasium.

Despite a slow start in game one, the Otters proved competitive in game two but could not put away the Tritons.  CSUMB led 29-27 before UCSD rallied and scored the final four points of game two for the win.

Brittany Etchings posted 11 kills and 10 digs while Melissa Nickas led the defense with 16 digs for the Otters.

The Otters return to CCAA action for CSUMB Homecoming Week as they host Cal Poly Pomona Friday, Oct. 12th at 7:00 pm and #2 Cal State San Bernardino Saturday, Oct. 13th at 2:00 pm.
