CHICO, Calif. --- Cal State Monterey Bay finished fourth at the InterWest Wildcat Classic that concluded Tuesday at the Butte Creek Country Club.
#John Jackson# led the Otters with a 3-over 219 and a second place finish in medalist play. Jackson tied with Sonoma State's Jarin Todd while Wayland Baptist's Michael Loppnow claimed individual medalist honors by one shot with a 2-over par 218.
Two other CSUMB golfers placed in the top twenty of medalist play. #Scott Yeakel# placed 15th with a score of 12-over 228 and #Martin Hardenberger# shot 14-over 230 to finish in 19th.
Wayland Baptist captured the nine-team event with a 54-hole score of 22-over par 886 to post a one-shot victory over Sonoma State. The Pioneers shot a final-round 4-over par 292 to edge out the Seawolves.
Sonoma State finished second with a 23-over par 887 while host Chico State (904) was third,
CSUMB (910) fourth and Cal State San Bernardino (912).
The CSUMB men's golf team finishes up their fall season this weekend at the Sonoma State Invitational held at the Santa Rosa Country Club.
