Otters run past Cal State San Bernardino 4-3

CSUMB improves record to 5-5-2 on the year

SEASIDE, Calif. --- #Kyle Satow# had a goal and an assist to lead Cal State Monterey Bay past visiting Cal State San Bernardino on a soggy Friday afternoon at the CSUMB soccer field.  The win improves the Otters' record to 5-5-2 (3-4-2, CCAA) while CSUSB drops to 3-10-2 (1-7-2, CCAA).

Satow added to his career goal record in the 13th minute to set the tone for the Otters in front of a supportive CSUMB Homecoming crowd.

CSUMB controlled the first half as #Kyle Millerick# made the score 2-0 off an assist from Satow at the 29:29 mark and #Nate Toricelli# followed up just three minutes later with a goal off an #Andy Breault# assist.  CSUSB's Brent Broadhurst scored off Jahmel McDermott's corner kick late in the first period to cut the Otters' halftime lead to 3-1.

#Ben DeVoll# extended the Otters' lead to 4-1 on an assist from #Andrew Burkhammer# in the 51st minute as the Otters out shot the Coyotes 18-10 on the day.

CSUSB added two more goals as the Otters held off a late rally by the Coyotes to settle for a 4-3 final score.

The Otters return to CCAA action Sunday afternoon against Cal Poly Pomona at the CSUMB soccer field.  Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 pm.
