2016 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Evan Gonzales ran in all six races as a junior…PRed in his first 8K race of the season with a 26:40.60 at the Humboldt State Invitational on the Patrick’s Point State park course (Sept. 10)…his 47^th place finish at that meet also was a season best…nearly PRed again five weeks later with a 26:43.70 on the Baylands Park course at the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 15).

2015 – Cal State Monterey Bay: Gonzales competed in six of seven races as a sophomore, including both postseason events…ran his first two sub–27 8Ks in consecutive weeks with a 26:55.10 at the Gator Invitational at Golden Gate Park (Oct. 9) and a 26:46.70 at the Bronco Invitational on the Baylands Park course (Oct. 17)…earned his first Top 10 finish as a collegian by placing seventh at the Sonoma State Invitational (Oct. 3).

2014– Cal State Monterey Bay: Gonzales missed the first two races of his collegiate career but competed in the next four, including the CCAA Championship Meet…best time was a 27:23.00 at the Bronco Invitational on the Baylands Park 8K course (Oct. 18)…best finish was 27^th at the UCSD Triton Invitational (Oct. 25).

High School: Was a highly–decorated runner coming out of San Diego’s Clairemont High School…a 4–time first team All–Central League performer for CHS, earning MVP honors in 2012 and 2013…earned first team All–CIF San Diego Section Div. IV honors as a junior and senior, qualifying for the CIF State Championship Meet both seasons…entered college with PRs of 15:35 (3–mile), 16:19 (5K), 4:33 (1600M) and 2:04 (800M).

Personal: Gonzales is majoring in kinesiology at CSUMB…career goal is to become a strength and conditioning…was a 4–year member of the honor roll at CHS…won CHS Award For Excellence in English in 2011…parents are Jennifer Patterson and Mark Gonzales.
