SEASIDE, Calif. – Last Saturday, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's cross country team pitched in to clean up the Marina State Beach.
“Cal State Monterey Bay Cross Country believes in giving back to the community,” said head coach #Greg Rhines#. “The team is enthusiastic about helping out in any and all ways possible. The beach clean-up was a great opportunity for us to pitch in and help a grand and needed cause. We will be regulars at the beach clean ups!"
Located only five minutes from campus, the Marina State Beach area winds through the Marina Dunes Natural Preserves. The beach is known for hang-gliding as well as radio-controlled gliders and kite flying. The beach is a favorite site for picnics.
"It felt great to help keep our community beach clean,” said junior #Hayley Tharp#. “It was a nice bonding time with my teammates too!"
"Not only did we have a good time as a team; we got to know the people in the community and show them we care about our world too,” said sophomore #Mackenzie Morgan#.
