SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team had three student-athletes, #Nikki Smart#, #Sarah Ford#, and #Chloe McRae#, named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Team.
The team consists of three levels: Outstanding (3.71 – 4.00 GPA), Superior (3.41 – 3.70) and Excellent (3.20 – 3.40). Smart earned the highest level of Outstanding, while Ford earned Superior honors and McRae qualified for Excellent level accolades.
Team-wise, CSUMB'S collective grade-point average of 3.15 ranked ninth best among 29 programs cited nationwide with GPAs of 2.76 or better. Chapman University topped the chart at 3.42.
Smart also received ACWPC All-American honors after leading the team with 60 goals in 2008-09 season.
