Robert J. Hiegert announced the recipients of 2007-08 All-Academic Awards on Thursday. A total of 43 Cal State Monterey Bay Otters made the list that included student-athletes from the ten sports programs that compete in the CCAA. Women's Soccer led the way with 11 honorees and baseball had eight.
Student-athletes must be a varsity letterwinner who competed in one of 13 CCAA-sponsored sports (men's cross country, women's cross country, men's soccer, women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's golf, women's tennis, men's outdoor track & field, women's outdoor track & field, baseball, and softball) during the 2007-08 academic year.
Student-athletes must also have a grade-point average of 3.40 or high in a minimum of 24 semester/36 quarter units completed at the certifying institution. Non-graded units may be included in the 24/36 unit total.
UC San Diego led all CCAA institutions with 79 all-academic selections.
