BELLINGHAM, Wash. --- Junior #Ryan McBride# came off the bench to score 23 points and pull down 10 rebounds in Cal State Monterey Bay's 87-75 loss to Western Washington University Monday night at Carver Gym.  The loss drops the Otters' record to 0-3 on the season while the Vikings improve to 2-1.

WWU led by as much as 11 points in the opening half, but CSUMB used a run of seven straight points and back to back lay ups by McBride and #Augie Johnston# to take its only lead, 25-24, with 4:35 left in the half. The Vikings came back to hold a slim 33-31 advantage at halftime.

The Otters trailed only by three, 59-56, with a little over nine minutes remaining, but WWU broke the game open with a 11-2 run for a 70-58 advantage with 6:51 to play.

#DShon Cannon# had 17 points for CSUMB and #Jose Sanchez# added 11.

CSUMB shot the ball well, finishing at 92% from the free throw line and 48% from the field in its fifth straight road game of the early season.

The Otters return home before hitting the road once again to face Seattle University this Friday at the Notre Dame de Namur University Thanksgiving Tourney in Belmont.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
