BELLINGHAM, Wash. --- Cal State Monterey Bay finished in third place at the 14th Western Washington University Women's Golf Invitational Tournament, which ended Tuesday at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
Tournament host and nationally ranked #16 Western Washington won the team title by shooting a final-round 312 for a 36-hole total of 42-over 626. That was eight strokes better than Saint Martin's, which finished at 634 after shooting a tourney-best round of 309. Four strokes separated the next three schools in the seven-team field. CSUMB was third (321=646), Hawaii Hilo fourth (316=648) and Grand Canyon fifth (324=650).
In medalist play, the Otters' #Lauren Grounds# finished tied for 11th at 14-over (79-81) and #Etivise Latu# placed 14th at 15-over (82-79).
The Otters next compete in the Sonoma State Invitational on Oct. 22-23 at the Santa Rosa (CA) Country Club.
