The California State University, Monterey Bay Sports Information Office is here to help the media cover CSU Monterey Bay's 13 intercollegiate athletics programs. They are also responsible for the maintanance of the athletics website and the recording of game statistics. Please let us know how we can help you. Sports responsible for:
Mindy Mills enters her first year as Sports Information Director at California State University, Monterey Bay. Appointed in July, Mills primary duties include: gathering official statistics; producing literature about the teams (media guides, game day programs, etc.; distributing news releases to hometown, regional and national media; maintaining the athletics portion of the CSUMB web site; and coordination of all interview requests for players, coaches and staff. In addition Mills will directly oversee both live audio and video of select Otter contests via the Internet.
Prior to coming to CSUMB, Mills was the Media Relations Director at Menlo College, a small institution located in Atherton, California. During the 2004-05 season, Mills served as the assistant sports information director as well as the assistant men’s and women’s volleyball coach at University of Rutgers-Newark.
Mills earned her masters in communication at Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne (IPFW) while serving as the graduate assistant in the sports information department.
A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mills was a member of University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team for two years before transferring to IPFW for her final season. Mills currently resides in Marina.
Game Press Table Reservations
Working space on the press table or in the designated press areas are limited to working media only. Seats are reserved for media covering CSUMB regularly. All other requests must be made at least 48 hours prior to each game. Please reserve seating by calling (831) 582-4783. Wired and wireless internet connections are available at the table for volleyball and basketball games. There is also a phone line that may be reserved for radio media.
Media Credentials
Requests for all media credentials should be addressed to the sports information office via email, fax, or phone. Credentials will be issued at the discretion of the SID for either single games, sports or the entire season for all athletics events. Credentials will be mailed if time permits or can be picked up at the main athletics office on the CSUMB campus. Arrangements to pick up credentials at another time or date can be made by contacting the sports information contact for each sport.
Photography
Those planning on attending a CSUMB athletic event for the purpose of photographing please contact the sports information office 48 hours prior to the event. Media and third parties requesting photographs for usage in editorial stories please contact the sports information office via e-maill, fax, or phone and include: requestor's name and email address, organization or publication name, the name of the student-athlete needed, photo desired (mugshot or action photo) deadline information, and a sentence regarding the scope of the story.
Interview Policy
Post-game interviews with coaches and players are on a catch-as-you-can basis with assistance from members of the sports information office staff. There are no formal post-game press conferences. Interviews outside of the Otter Sports Center, Baseball/Softball Complex, Aquatic Center and the Soccer Complex on non-game days may be set up through the SID office.
