INDIANAPOLIS – Cal State Monterey Bay's
Alex Sobstad is among the 108 golfers teeing off Tuesday morning in the
2012 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships held May 15-19, at
The Cardinal Club Golf Course in Simpsonville, Ky.
Sobstad was the top individual qualifier out of the Central/West Region after finishing third overall with a 212.
The 2011 CSUMB men's golf team defeated Lynn in medal/match play by a score of 3 to 2, to claim the school's first men's golf national championship. Chico State's Kyle Souza, won a playoff with Daniel Young Lynn, to claim the individual title. The championships were hosted at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Muscle Shoals, Ala., by North Alabama.
The three-day event features five teams and two individual qualifiers from each of the NCAA's designated regions.
